Virtual Summer Concerts to Attend

While summer concerts might not be happening due to COVID-19, we are lucky to live in a world with technology at our fingertips. Luckily, many bands and singers are live streaming or uploading previously recorded concerts to hold us all over as we continue to stay home and practice social distancing. If you’re itching for some sort of live music, here are some virtual summer concerts that you can tune into!

Dave Matthews Band

It’s no secret that Charlottesville loves the Dave Matthews Band, after all, they are from here! If you’re a fan, you’ll be happy to know that every Wednesday at 8 pm, you can tune into their Drive-In Concert Series! In fact, tonight, July 8th, you can watch their full performance from the HiFi Buys Amphitheater in Atlanta, Georgia from 2004. Additionally, each episode features a different organization in which you can donate to. This week’s is the Southern Poverty Law Center, which fights hate and bigotry while fighting for justice for vulnerable members of society. Kick back, relax, and listen to some Dave Matthews Band every Wednesday!

Saturdaze with Earth, Wind, and Fire

If you’re a fan of Earth, Wind, and Fire, you’ll want to gather around every Saturday a virtual world wide dance party at 4 pm throughout the month of July. Saturdaze with Earth, Wind, and Fire will feature the band and a guest DJ each week. Additionally, proceeds will benefit a variety of different charities and organizations. Tune in on their Youtube or Facebook page for some Saturday fun!

Drew Holcomb

Every day at 8 pm, relax and unwind to a cover by Drew Holcomb and his wife, Ellie. Drew and Ellie will cover songs straight from their kitchen, and you can watch them on Instagram! What better way to end the day than to hear them singing some of your favorite songs? Additionally, you can watch past covers on their Instagram, so you’ll never miss a beat.

Eli Young Band

On Thursday, July 9th at 10 pm, watch Eli Young Band perform an acoustic series on Facebook! Having just released a new album, perhaps they will be giving us a taste of some of their new songs. Mark your calendars, because you won’t want to miss a great performance!

While a full arena blasting loud music likely isn’t in the near future, artists are doing their best to share their music with the world. Keep an eye out for virtual performances from your favorite artists and bands. In the meantime, tune into these virtual summer concerts, transforming your living room into an arena!
