Located in Crozet just outside Charlottesville, Henley’s Orchard is within close proximity to luxury apartment complex Beacon on 5th. Since 1932, the family-owned farm has been growing some of the best apples and peaches in town. The orchard boasts over 25 varieties of apples and 15 kinds of peaches! Every Saturday in October, the orchard hosts Henleyfest, a festival with apple cider donuts, cider making, hay rides, and apple picking.
Henley’s Orchard is open from June to October. Business hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday through Saturday, and Sunday from 1pm to 5pm.
Critzer Family Farm
Critzer Family Farm is in Afton, a bit further out from Charlottesville and close to many of the area’s breweries. Blackberries, strawberries, and raspberries are just a few of the fruits that you can pick. In the fall, Critzer offers pumpkins, mums, and cider. You can pick your own fruit or purchase pre-picked fruit. Be sure to stop by the next time you head out to Afton!
Critzer Family Farm is located at 9388 Critzer Shop Rd, Afton, VA 22920. Note it is only open from May to October. Visiting hours are 8am to 6pm Monday – Saturday.
